Winter Skiing Winter Skiing
Winter is fun for everyone. Whether you’re a professional or a beginner there is a slope out there for you. Skiing can be a day trip with the family, a weekend get-a-way for two. Or if you’re an extremist, that means the great slopes of Colorado. While you’re planning your trip there are things to consider.
Weather Conditions Weather is always a huge factor when you’re planning a trip. The best weather for is when it has just snowed. Fresh powder on the hills makes for a great day and you’re less likely to fall. Make sure you check your local weather forecast if you’re locally. Or if your going away for you ski trip then check the internet. There are sites that will give you weather from all over the world.
Clothing & Equipment Having the proper clothing and equipment is important when you’re planning your trip. You want to make sure that you have a couple layers on. You can always take a layer off but you can’t put them on. Its going to be colder in the morning then
it will be in the afternoon. You are going to need: jacket, snow or ski pants, gloves (make sure you bring two pairs just in case one gets soaked), hat, goggles or sunglasses, warm socks, sunscreen, lip balm If you’re a beginner or don’t own your own equipment. You can rent equipment from the ski resort. They will supply your skis, ski boots and poles.
Safety As much fun as can be, it can also be dangerous. If you don’t know how to ski, there are instructors there to help you. Learn how to stop, and ski properly before you start on the slopes. Also make sure you ski with a friend. So that if something does happen, you have a friend to help you or to go and find help in needed. If you’re still uncomfortable, or still learning how to ski don’t go passed your level. Get comfortable practising your skills before moving up to the larger slopes.
Most importantly have fun!!! You can learn more by visiting my blog Winter Skiing http://winterskiing.blogspot.com
